The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design Course – Module 2

Over the past few weeks I have been participating in the Make It In Design Module 2: Creating Your Professional Identity.

There’s been a lot of content and some fast paced design works but so far I’ve learnt a lot!

One of the first exercises involved working working with collections and co-ordinate patterns. Based on a vase of flowers and colour palette inspired by the Arizona deserts I created a floral collection.

Another brief was to create a matching set of stationary for which I took imagery from Eucalyptus trees.

Next was a focus on colour. Of the given palettes I chose to work with the Orange to design a placement and napkin set.

The most recent brief was working with geometric shapes to design modern, summer womens swimwear.

A lot of work to produce in a few weeks and I’m feeling it! Two more weeks to go and then I’m also signed up for Module 3.
